Bob Fletcher owns the Fletcher Family Farm in Southampton, Massachusetts, and to hear his wife Cheryl tell it, “Bob was born to be a dairy farmer.

He’s a third generation farmer and it’s in his blood.

He’s passionate about his cows, and he also loves sharing the farm with the public.” Whether it is inviting a local boy scout troop to learn about milking cows or patiently explaining to a visitor that “no, that Jersey cow doesn’t bite,” Bob wants to give the community a feel for life on a dairy farm.

He has passed along his affection for the animals and his love for this way of life to his children.

And one of his proudest accomplishments was when he earned a state grant that allowed the family to build a modern, efficient dairy facility in 2011.

The local community watched with admiration and often commented that Bob was “one of the hardest working farmers in town.” For Southampton, dairy farming is a community affair.
